Executive Director

Dianne Paukstelis joined the United Way of Riley County in June 2008.  Ms. Paukstelis believes that color coding can and will bring about world peace and that there should never, ever be anything on the floor in the storage room!

Paukstelis earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas, and has worked for both businesses and nonprofit agencies.  Through almost 20 years of practice, she has honed her skills in the areas of relationship-building, strategic planning and execution,  board and volunteer management, program development, publicity, marketing, and fundraising.  Prior area positions include the Development Manager for the International Association for Jazz Education and the Marketing/Development Director for Sunset Zoo.

Ms.
Paukstelis is proud of her heritage (related to Betsy Ross - designer of the first American Flag, Zachary “Old Rough and Ready” Taylor – 12th president of the United States, and Paul Samuelson - Nobel laureate in economics) and anxiously awaits recognition of her own fabulous-ness-ity.  Her favorite holiday is Halloween (candy AND costumes, how can you go wrong?), and she enjoys singing Broadway show tunes with much gusto, if not much accuracy.

Director of Events

and Volunteer Engagement Candice_LUM_copy.jpg

Candice McIntosh joined the United Way of Riley County in April 2009. After graduating from Manhattan High School she attended Kansas State University and majored in Business. Candice's ability to organize brings peace to her busy life and enjoys cleaning to maintain that inner joy!

Candice had the pleasure of serving the United States Army as a "military brat " and escorted her family all over the United States and Europe! Her heart is really found with Non-profit organizations. She is committed to volunteering for Relay for Life of Geary County until there is a cure.

You will not find Candice without a smile and some bling! Positive attitude definately breeds positive attitude! Candice is very excited to help the United Way reach outstanding fundraising goals so we can help the community and create positive change!

Kristy is your one-stop-info-shop for everything related to the Student United Way at K-State.  She currently serves on the Student United Way executive committee, and is helping drive membership as well as introduce inventive new technological "stuff" to the office.  (We say "stuff" because most of the time we just smile-and-nod, and then go crazy when she fixes our computer issues with the press of only one button.)

Danielle Vaughn

Schools of Hope Coordinator

United Way and RSVP, in cooperation with USD383, have spent the last several years developing a community volunteer program to increase adademic performace.

2011-2012 is the pilot year for this program that connects volunteer tutors with students during the school day.  We hope that this program will expand into every K-3 classroom in the area over the next few years.
